Brown Classic Tabby Female, Born 7-27-06

1 yr...

Congratulations to Mark, Shannon & CoonPals Miss Manners, Mannie...  "Foxy Lady!"

She is officially being called Mannie- a euphamistic derative of Miss Manners,  since we have determined that she has none.  I had a battle with her this morning at 6:00 am over my toast.  She is so funny. If she even thinks she hears a bag opening or a plate setting down, she comes bounding in from wherever she is playing!  We are having loads of fun."     3-1-07

Warm Brown Classic Tabby Male, 8-8-06:       Congratulations to Brian and CoonPals Kitty Loki!

1 yr old now...

"He's one energetic kitty!  He hasn't hidden once yet, and didn't seem the least bit timid when I first let him roam the house.  He's very demanding of attention!  Needless to say, it has been very hard to get anything done, including typing this message.  He keeps jumping into my lap and onto the keyboard!  It's obvious he was raised by a great mother :).   He's so beautiful, I especially love his paws and his ears, and his facial and body shading is great, too.  He is constantly kneading!  Even just sitting around he will knead.  And he does purr a lot, too!    ...
He loves the porch, and has me trained to let him in and out very well.  He has made himself a window by my bed by removing the last section of blinds on one side a few inches high.   He is very affectionate and sleeps with us, but Loki does indeed fit his personality, as he is always knocking over something!  Loki also likes to stand in the shower with me, but only behind the shower curtain"   3-1-07       ...
His tail is HUGE!  And he is very sweet, of course.  He still bites a little hard, though.  He follows me everywhere and "helps" me do everything from make the bed (jump on the sheets and roll on his back immediately after I put him down, over and over again), to take a shower (he actually stands in the back).

Congratulations to Dottie and Joe and CoonPals Giorgio!

"Giorgio is wonderful...we both enjoy him so much, even Miss Kitty had taken to him.  But then how could she resist? ...  He truly is a little boy...curious about everything, fearless and wants to be involved in everything Dot and I do."     4-16-07   ... I am sending a few pictures of Coonpals Giorgio, he is such a magnificent cat.  We both love him dearly... a constant companion wanting to be involved in whatever we do.  In about a week we are driving to Maine for two weeks, having rented a pet friendly house on a lake for two weeks.  7-9-08

Congratulations to Dianne, George, and CoonPals Sasha Silver Belle &  CoonPals Garfield MacTabby!    "Sasha, what a lover!  I can't go to the bathroom without Sasha charging into the room to greet me.  I cannot put on makeup without Sasha right by my side.  I cannot brush my teeth without Sasha there to assist.  I don't know if it is always me or the allure of water.  Sasha will jump into the bathtub and look into the drain as though she is in search of the drain monster.  I cannot sit down without Sasha on my lap within seconds.  And then there is sleeping or attempting to sleep with 3 out of 4 cats pursuing their comfort zone.  To hell with my comfort.  Sasha loves her brother and comes to his rescue over his wimpers.  Yes, Garfield is a BABY.  Garfield, Mr. Field, MacTabby or red man, is a challenge.  Whenever we hear a bump in the night, it is Garfield in trouble.  Crashes during the day - Garfield.  He certainly lives up to his name - trouble maker and outright pig with food.  His fur is a very deep red.  He is the talker.  If we mimic his sound, we can have a long conversation.  I don't know what I have said but he is so responsive.  And then there is Garfield, the naughty.  It amazes me that without claws, he is able to shred toilet paper.  At first we were unsure who the offender was but I heard a banging sound coming from a bathroom.  There was Mr. Field lying upon the toilet seat on his side, rapidly spinning the paper off the roll.  Whenever I get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, Garfield relocates his body to my pillow.  The little urchin will not move and must be forcibly removed in order for me to get back into bed."   2-14-07

George likes to spend his time irritating Garfield with a red laser light.  Garf can spin around in a tight circle in his attempts to capture that red light with his paws.  And what a beauty he has become!  As my daughter-in-law said, his color is very deep red and incredibly soft and that that Coon tail.....gorgeous.  It is thick and very full.  He loves to display his physique in front of the mirrored wall in the dining room.  Garfield is taller than Sasha...about 1 1/2 inches more.  His favorite spot to sleep.....the bathtub!  We believe that the tub provides him the perfect environment to roll.  Garfield is still quite a talker.  Whenever I go to the bathroom, Field comes running to rub his body around my legs, then plop onto the floor, wriggle his back on the floor and expose his belly for rubbing.

Sasha is another problem.  She has become a glummer.  I cannot sit down to watch tv without Sasha climbing upon my lap.  That would be fine but Sasha has to keep squirming to get closer to me.  Actually, the Pennsylvania Dutch have an expression for that...rutching.  And a rutcher she is.  Sasha is first to climb into bed at night.  She is heavier than Redman but smaller.  She loves to sit at the table at breakfast to beg for treats....especially the left-over milk in the cereal bowl.  Envision this....Sasha sits on the chair, propping her chin upon the table, golden eyes flittering from George to me........hoping for a handout.  Sasha and Savannah are my lovers. 4-25-07
Garfield is quite the looker........the fur at the ear tips is 1/2 inch, coloration is amazing, and those eyes.  When he prowls around the swimming pools, the sun accentuates the red.  He weighs about 16 lbs.  Sleak and steathly.  He loves to help me fold the laundry.......put the pile of laundry on the bed and there he lies upon it.  As I fold shirts, Garfy jumps onto the shirt and spoils what I have done.  And again, another male Coon loves my bras.  I have no idea what the fascination is with bras...probably the straps which he catches in his teeth.  And then the teeth.  He loves to swat at me and I must say with force.  Then when I pet him, he grabs at my hands, starts kicking with his back paws and chomps down on my arm.  What love!  Whenever he cries, Sasha come to his defense to mother him.  He is such a baby.  Sometimes it seems as though Sasha is his mother.  When I sleep, it is Garfield at my head or small of my back with Sasha at my feet.

Sasha is a big girl....weighs about 18+ pounds.  She eats according to how much food is in her bowl.  She is quite the lover.  The other day, I had called her name and she finally responded.  Norman used to come to us when he heard his name, not Sasha or Garfield.  I think because there are two of them, there is more independence.  Sasha loves to lie under a Christmas tree.  She enjoys breakfast with us as she begs for the remaining milk in our cereal bowls.  She loves to sits at the table and rest her chin upon the table.  Sasha loves to lie on my chair at the table.  The moment I get up to retrieve something that I have forgotten, Sasha curls up on my chair.  Moving Sasha is quite a challenge.  There are times that Sasha is not content without sitting upon my lap while I watch tv.  With her head she will gently nudge me.  Finding a comfortable postion requires much moving around.......sit for a few moments......move again.......snuggle........move again.  She will repeat this for several minutes until she is comfortable and I am uncomfortable.

Several months ago, I had a bad case of food poisoning.  While I suffered, Garfield was my constant companion and guardian.  He was like glue.
I have had my hair "cleaned", yanked and stroked by Garfield.  I have had my feet cleaned by Sasha.  All these activities occur while I am sleeping, so naturally I am awakened.  Whenever I get up in the middle of the night, Garfield immediately settles on the spot where I had been sleeping.  The kids even have a little toy basket for their topys...of which there are many.  Sasha loves to carry the toys throughtout the house.

So now you know the saga of the Allgoever Coon kids.

7-08 ... A few weeks ago, I had spent several days in bed recuperating from a bout of stomach virus.  Needless to say that whenever either George or myself go within inches of our bed.....a Coon cat appears!  Garfie never left my side and constantly would place a leg upon my body to insure that I was still breathing.  After all next to loving, a Coon needs to be fed and therefore, if I was not breathing, the panic would begin.

In May my brother and his wife were visiting from South Carolina for the first time.  Within the first few hours of his arrival, he was astonished at the demeanor and poise of my precious babies.  He actually asked how I did I train them so well.  George and I laughed and stated that he was witnessing a Maine Coon cat.  My brother is not fond of cats but I must say within a day he was hooked.  Then Garfield decided that it was time to play up to his wife Linda.  Garf loves to roll on his back to expose his silky belly for some play time.  Linda obliged and then the Garf teeth came out to nip her hand....a nasty habit we are trying to break....but this is Garfie love.  While Garf sucks up (this is the correct description) to all comers, Sasha is the reserved one....shy, reticent to come close.  Needless to say, we made sure that Garfield was not in their luggage when they left.

Then over the 4th, some friends flew in from Minneapolis for several days of visit and again there was Garf.  They too, did not particularly care for cats but were soon won over.  Again, Garfield sucked up and Sasha remained in the background.  Everyone who comes to our home wants a Maine Coon.

Now I must tell you a story that you may not believe.  Upon retiring for the evening, I always place my glasses upon the kitchen table.  Our kitchen table has a beautiful glass top which enables very smart cats to observe everything.  I did not think about the glasses until evening as I was preparing to watch a television program.  As I went to retrieve my glasses, they were nowhere to be found.  I looked everywhere and I elicited the help from my son.  We searched every room twice.  George thought that perhaps I had left my glasses somewhere and forgotten to pick them up.  Fortunately, David looked down on the floor and there beneath my pantry were the missing glasses.  I have to put my glasses up high since Garfie loves to place them within his mouth and proceed to play with them.  Now I am trying to find a missing earring that I had placed upon the dining room table.  Could it be the kleptomaniac Garfie?????  Thought you would enjoy the latest kitty tales of the Valrico Coon cats.

Congratulations!!  All your cats were so beautiful and happy -- this award is well deserved.   However, I must tell you, I know you won this for awards you got for other cats so I don't know how to break this to you, but you sold the most beautiful and smart and funny and affectionate cat in the world to us!!! You probably would have got first place had you kept Rumsfeld!!!!   Seriously, we can never thank you enough for this WONDERFUL addition to our family.  HE IS SUCH A DOLL!!!!  Take care and again, CONGRATULATIONS!!!  You deserve it!

Congratulations to LouEllen and CoonPals Madison  "Maddie"    "they are beautiful girls and getting ready to turn 1...yeah!  ... we had  separated them for a few weeks at the beginning, and they seemed so sad (as did my boys)...so they both live with us here together!!!!  Everyone is happy...even Mom who is here all the time anyway!!  We changed (at the very beginning) Sadie's name to Nashi (Pronounced with a short "a" sound) which means "dark" in another language.  So Nashi and Maddie are great!  Maddie has the best personality of any cat I know!!  She sleeps with the kids...plays with the kids...sits on the baby's lap while he watches tv or drinks his bottle, and just loves attention! Congratulations to Alan, Jill and CoonPals Muffin!     "Mr. Muffin has turned out to be quite a special kitty and we are very pleased with him.  Yes, he is a very special part of our family and brings us much joy with his personality and kitten antics.  He can also be a challenge too.   Slips outside every chance he gets.  He wants to play and chase the Siamese cat, but Siamese wants nothing to do with him.   As you knew, he appears to be much more intelligent than the other cats I have owned.   Muffin has games that he likes to play with his toys, the kitchen rug, ankles, and my chair.  When he doesn't get his way or is locked out of a room, he will let you know of his dissatisfaction."   3-31-07  ... Mr. Muffin had quite a time with all the lights, shiny cat attractors, boxes to explore and paper everywhere.  Oh my, those wonderful turkey handouts under the table.  He took an extra long Christmas afternoon nap just to recover from the excitement. 12-26-07

"Wanted to let you know how MICKEY is doing.  He went on his first overnight boat trip over the Labor Day Weekend.  He spent two nights on the boat & met a lot of our friends.  One of our friends has a six month old Yorkie.  Mickey hissed at the puppy but was good with our friends!  We have been taking him out on the boat every time we go, and he seems to enjoy it.  He keeps getting braver, and I think we might have to get hin to wear his life jacket, because he keeps wanting to go places he should not!  Cindy's afraid he might fall in the water.  He is getting bigger and finding out he can now reach things, and go places where he couldn't go before!  He is taking advantage of it!  He is about 7lbs & eats like a horse.  He is such a little MONSTER, but we love him!"
Congratulations to Richard, Cindy & CoonPals  Mickey!

Congratulations to Maggi, Jeff, and CoonPals Tabatha "Tabby"   ...This is HER Christmas tree!  She rearranges the skirt everyday to her liking.  I didn't put tinsel on but the beads are just as tempting.  The other night she sat in front of the tree admiring it...so we thought!  She was sizing it up for a major attack.  She got up on her hind legs an swatted it with all her might.  We just laughed.

... at 4mos with "Booger"          Now at 5.5 mos ...  "He weighed in at a little over nine pounds yesterday...it sounds like a thundering herd when he comes down the stairs!"       (14 Mos: Roscoe is doing great, we all love him.  All of his whiskers have finally grown back (about a 12" spread).  He currently weighs a little more than fifteen pounds and beats the heck out of the other cats in the house that are half his size.  He also wrestles with Booger quite often and generally hangs with the dogs rather than the cats.  He can be a lap cat when he wants to be (usually when it's time to give himself a bath).  He is somewhat shy with strangers though.  We'd like to have another one ..."
